HOPELESS ROMANTIC

CONFESSION 101: When I was in high school, there was this guy who was once special to me, in a way, because we're in a so- called 'MU' relationship thing XD (Let us all hope he never reads this)I kinda treated him like how the girl treats the boy in this poem. Well at first he didn't give up but eventually he did T-T :))) I always told him that I've had enough or something like it will never work for us especially when I noticed how it affected my grades (What a GC) and poof! He tried to hold on but not for long :( nyaha. And that's the story behind this poem :D

She expects a tear to fall from his eye
When she does simple things like saying goodbye
He had to curse that word for all his life
For losing her out of his sight, is enough to drain all of his might

He places a light kiss at the top of her head
Just after hitting him hard, reminding him that she has arrived
She'll feel sorry eventually, but she had to maintain her compusure
"That had to be the rule," she says, for her to love him even more

Putting up a fight is her odd way to save her feelings for him
She was bored and he was sickeningly too sweet to still cling
She gives him shallow reasons to give up, to test herself if she'll regret
the moment he complies in peculiar wishes that she uses, for her fondness to build up

"Will he cry? Will he be happy to be free from a nuisance like me?"
she asks, waiting for more baffling questions to come up
"If I see him on the street, in his arms another wench,
will he squeeze her hand the same or breathe to them when she gets cold?"
The thought made her cringe as her feelings unfold

Unaware of the streaming tears that overflowed
She reached for him and begged to stay and not go
Her heart shattered when he stepped back and silence abound
"This is my payback," he says out loud, "you're crazy I know,
but you should have guessed better that I'm never willing to let go"

EXPOSE

Mag- iisang buwan na ang lumipas, wala pa rin akong nakakapang madidikitan sa kolehiyong pinasok ko. Gabi- gabi akong nagdadasal na may maglakas- loob na kausapin ako dahil paniguradong takot nanaman ang mga bago kong kaklase sa pagmumukang ‘to. Sanay na ko, kahit saang lugar naman ako magpunta Suplada at Mataray ang unang impresyong nabubuo ko sa mga tao.

Sino nga ba ang magiging mga kaibigan ko?

Lumipas pa ang mga araw, ‘di ko lubos maisip na mapapadpad ako sa iba’t- ibang grupo sa klase, bakit kaya ganun, mapa- elementary, high school o college  uso yung grupo- grupo. Nagsasama- sama yung mga taong magkakapareho ng hilig at gusto.

Sa section namen, nandyan ang grupong YES! Ang pinakamalaking grupo na binubuo ng mga taong happy- go- lucky; J-L-O-R-D, acronym ng mga taong kasali sa grupo, ‘yan naman ang mga taong, sa totoo lang, may malalakas na personalidad, pare- pareho silang may kapabilidad na mamuno kaya kadalasan nauuwi sila sa pagtatalo; Sa isang gilid namann ng klase, nag- umpukan ang mga K-pop lovers, hindi ko alam ang pangalan ng grupong ‘yon, basta kumakanta sila mapababae o binabae Blah- blah- blah ‘di ko maintindihan with matching sway ng balakang at snap ng daliri tulad nung sa sikat na MTV ng Wondergirls at SNSD.

‘Yan yung mga grupong tumatak sa ulo ko nung First Year, at sa kaso ko, knowing me, dun ako sa YES Family para go with the flow lang, walang pasiklaban, walang kompetensya at walang lyrics na ‘di ko maintindihan. “No pressure,” ika nga nila.

Pero ‘di ako nakatagal, alam kong may kulang, hinahanap ko kase yung bonding na tulad nung hayskul, may time sa pag- aaral(aralan), sa paglalaro, sa pag- aasaran, sa paglalakwatsa, at sa pagpipisikalan. Oo, ‘di lang halata pero aktibo ako, parang bata mahilig sa laro, kaya hayun nabuo ang Patintero University. ‘Di ko namalayan unti- unting nabuhay ang dugo ko, fully charged na ulit ako at priceless ang tawa ko sa ‘twing  may nadadapa at nasusugatan.

Pero ‘yang mga grupong nabanggit ko, nagkalasan ring lahat, at hayun nagkaroon lang ng rotation at nagbago ng mga pangalan.

Nariyan ang Girlfriends. Grupo ng magaganda kong kaklase na updated sa Korean movies, series, music at concert. Malalakas at matitinis ang boses, humanda kayo pag ‘yan nagtilian. Basta may trademark sila, hindi ko alam kung sa pananamit ba, pag nakita mo sila yun na ‘yon! Halo- halo rin kase, matatalino, makukulit at may pagkaharot in a girl way. Parang kape lang, 3-in-1.

‘Yung mga tao naman sa gitna, iba rin ang trip, minsan musicians ang peg may mga baong instrument. Hindi ko alam ang pangalan ng grupo nila, ang dinig ko lang dati, Grupong DL (Dean’s Lister). Matatalino at mateknikal. Pagka- cool naman ang target ng grupo pero minsan nawiwirduhan ako. Masaya rin sila, at pag nagsama- sama, para silang mga Rockstar \m/. 

Sa likuran naman nakaupo ang isang maliit na grupo sa pamumuno ni Boss Angeline. Minsan, lulubog- lilitaw ang grupo, ambibilis magsiwalaan pag may nabalitaang ‘baka’ wala si Prof. Madalas nakatambay sa tindahang pader ng COC at hindi ko alam ang pinagkukwentuhan. Sa totoo lang, misteryo sa akin ang grupong ‘to, kung paano sila nabuo at naka- survive nang sila- sila lang. Mukang enjoy naman sila sa kompanya ng isa’t- isa kaya wala na ko dun.

Syempre pa, ang trio na sina Jango, Keo at Nico. Medyo komplikado ang estado ng grupo, di ko alam kung sila- sila lang ba o kasama sila Cielo. Eto yung remains ng Yes family, though si Jango, isa siya sa dating J-L-O-R-D. Dito ang source ng chika, madaming koneksyon sa iba- ibang seksyon at year level, kaya malakas din ang signal ng radar nila.

Last but not the least, sinagot din ang mga panalangin ko, ang aking circle of friends, ang mga taong nakaupo sa harapan kung hindi alphabetical ang seating arrangement. Wala rin kameng pangalan, pero ang bulung- bulungan Grupo daw ng mga “GC” (Grade Conscious). Pero okay lang, di naman kase negatibo ang dating saken ng terminong yan. Isa pa balanse ang study habits namen, aral konte, mamaya asaran at pikunan tapos magkakayayaan ng laro, di pa nakontento maglalakwatsa at magkakaubusan ng pera, manggigipit ng kaklase at magpapalibre. Yan ang basic na kalakaran sa grupong pinasok ko. Masaya kung hindi ka sensitibo. Bawal ang pikon at higit sa lahat, bawal ang pumasok nang singkwenta lang ang dala.

At para mas maintindihan niyo ilalantad ko na sila. (Sila- sila rin po ang bumuo ng mga namecalling isinulat ko lang)

RODANTE “RON” DULAY (The Founder)

PICTURESQUE

         I was having trouble then, I mean, I really want to describe myself in one of my writings just so I could get more involved. You know every time I write about anything, I see to it that I am part of the story that there is a certain character which will represent me, I guess that's how many other writers out there (I'm not claiming that I'm one of those 'Writers' just a 'Wannabe') include themselves in their writings as well, and it's just how it works.

         So I decided to make my own version of Narcissus' story. Anyway, the descriptions were a bit exaggerated for the sake of art, I'm not that fair just pale, though I really have that snobby pair of eyes which often make a bad impression on me. And you can just read the rest of the story :)

Stuck in the middle of a deep forest

Lost in abstraction as my body shivers

I turned to the river that proudly sparkles

Never have I seen a thing that shines so bright

Even after the sun has died and buried its light

At that moment I was hypnotized

That I just found my feet bringing me for a closer sight

I never dare walk close to her when I was a child

But I am sure it is the time for me to look her in the eye

Some people say she looks ordinary

While others say she’s a beauty

So I took the last step and knelt down before her

Filling my lungs with fresh air just when I started to grow in fear

Pretty or not, now it’s time for me to know

Though it’s clear that she illuminates than the stars even more

It was real, she has the most pale skin that I’ve ever seen

That, I wanted to exclaim, but I swallowed them back coz’ her eyes look so stern

I forced a smile trying to tame the girl

And I was overjoyed to see her do the same

I was sure my heart did a cartwheel

When her lips gently parted and returned the smile that was heartfelt

Her cheeks were round as they turned bright red

And her eyes now dazzle as her lashes flatter

I swear, that moment, I was in ecstasy

In this whole town, the lasses must be in envy

How she managed to wear a façade so grim, I can never tell

What my heart will seal, is the genuine beauty that has been revealed
